Worship and Music

This service includes the weekly celebration of the sacrament of the Lord’s supper.

8:30 am Worship Service in Christ Chapel

A comprehensive program of Christian education  is offered, with Sunday School Classes for all ages, including several different classes for adults.

9:30 am  Sunday Mornings

During the service, children from kindergarten through grade three are invited to the front of the sanctuary for a Children's Moment. The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is celebrated monthly, and on festival Sundays in the 10:45 service

10:45 am Worship service in the main Sanctuary

Music has been central to the worship life of the church through the centuries. In addition to the Church Choir, we have a youth handbell choir and an adult handbell choir. Singers and instrumentalists are encouraged to offer their talents as part of our corporate worship. Formal music training is not required for participation in the choir; we welcome all who wish to use their voice in praise of God.

Music

The sanctuary has a 3-manual Schantz pipe organ and a Yamaha grand piano. Christ Chapel has a Nordlie tracker pipe organ and a Baldwin grand piano.

Nursery care is provided for both worship services each Sunday.  A complete nursery room is available on level 1R. There is a paging system available for parents. Wonderful care is given for infants through 2 - year olds.

 

Acolyte is an ancient Greek word meaning attendant or helper. Youth in grades 4-8 are invited to assist in the 10:45 worship service as they light candles representing the light of God.

 

A portion of the 10:45 service is broadcast live from 11:00 to 11:30 am on radio station WSMG, 1450 AM.

Our congregation observes several special services throughout the year. Specific dates and times are announced in the newsletter and bulletin.
